Lake County Commissioners Greater Idaho Meeting

January 22, 2025

The first Lake County Commissioner's meeting of the year that is dedicated to talking about Greater Idaho is happening on January 22nd at 10 am at the Paisley Community Center in Paisley.  Lake County residents rejected a ballot measure in November that would have altered the requirements for the meetings, indicating that residents are still eager for county elected leaders to advocate for moving the border.

With the 2025 legislative session beginning the same week, Oregon Legislators will get a chance to support two different Greater Idaho bills that would move a border change forward.  Commissioners in Lake county have already written a letter supporting legislative action, but could reiterate that support to Lake County's new state Senator, Mike McLane.   Representative Owens, who is the state representative for most of Lake county is the lead sponsor of the bill to be introduced in the Oregon House.
